PCA has researched and decided on funding the top 2 choices, which was

1) Safer Playground Equipment

and

2) School theatre workshops and show

Currently we have no confirmed cases of influenza at KIS.  Please continue to practice healthy habits and monitor your child for symptoms

KIS shirts and Fleece

As many children have the same KIS t-shirt or fleece it is easy to get them mixed up.  Please label your child’s KIS wear in order to avoid mix-up’s.  Currently we have one black fleece size 140.  If you are missing yours please retrieve it from the office.

Kyoto City Fire Drill

KIS students in grades 3-5 took part in a fire drill at Nijo Castle yesterday as part of our community service to Kyoto city.  All students were well mannered and were ambassadors for KIS!

Curriculum Talks

The percentage of students infected remains low, however we do encourage parents to keep children home if they seem unwell.  We continue to encourage good hygiene and healthy practices at school,  to reduce the  risk of spreading. Please encourage your children to rest well, and eat a balanced diet during this flu season.

Regarding the Hot Lunch on January 20, we have decided to make a couple small changes to the ingredients.  As a result of a request, we have decided not to use consommé, flour, Worcestershire sauce or ketchup.  Instead, we will be using celery and tomato puree.  If you have already signed up and would like to cancel, send a note to your child’s teacher by Thursday, Jan. 19th and your payment will be refunded.
